Qualified 2 Work (Q2W) was founded on over forty-years construction industry experience to provide a unique framework of services designed to help companies, individuals and construction clients to deliver a safer, more efficient and quality product.

We are very proud at Q2W to have helped over 3,000 construction personnel achieve their National Vocational Qualification (NVQ).

Holding the appropriate Construction related NVQ is now a key factor in proving your occupational competence,

CDM Regulations 2015

Recent changes to the Construction Design Management Regulations 2015 require that construction managers, supervisors and workers demonstrate that they have the skills, knowledge, training and experience to complete their work safely.

NVQs are recognised as the Industry standard for individuals to prove their competence.

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) came into force on 6 April 2015, replacing CDM 2007. This publication provides guidance on the legal requirements for CDM 2015 and requires that Individuals demonstrate the appropriate skills, knowledge, training and experience to do their job safely.

Guidance 15:162

When a contractor employs or appoints an individual to work on a construction site, they should make enquiries to make sure the individual:

(a) has the skills, knowledge, training and experience to carry out the work they will be employed to do in a way that secures health and safety for anyone working on the site; or

(b) is in the process of obtaining them.

Guidance 15:163 clearly states that sole reliance should not be placed on industry certification cards or similar being presented as evidence that a worker has the right qualities to carry out their work safely.

NVQ's

It has never been more important for construction workers to achieve an NVQ because of changes to the CDM Regulations 2015.

Qualified 2 Work (Q2W) provide a comprehensive advice and guidance service designed to ensure that construction workers, supervisors and managers gain National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) to meet their specific needs.

Guidance 15:163 clearly states that sole reliance should not be placed on industry certification cards or similar being presented as evidence that a worker has the right qualities to carry out their work safely.

Nationally recognised qualifications such as National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) can provide contractors with assurance that the holder has the skills, knowledge, training and experience to carry out the task(s) for which they are appointed.

CSCS Cards

CSCS is the leading skills certification scheme within the UK construction industry.

CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the required training and qualification for the type of work they carry out.

Q2W will ensure that you apply for the correct CSCS card.

Most major contractors and home builders require workers on their sites to hold a valid CSCS card as a demonstration of their commitment to safe and efficient working. It is important that you hold the right CSCS card for the type of work you undertake. If you do not have a card, or hold the wrong card, access to construction sites may be denied.

To successfully apply for your CSCS card an NVQ is usually required or be registered for the Construction related NVQ.

Testimonials

"Everyone at Qualified2Work are amazing! I cannot thank them enough for everything they did for me. I was awarded my NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Site Supervision - Construction within the time-frame they set when I registered, allowing me plenty of time to upgrade my credentials with the CSCS. They presented high levels of professionalism, promptness and dealt with all my inquiries, even at times that were stressful for me. They went far and beyond and certainly exceeded my expectations. I am planning to do another qualification and I would not consider any other Training Center but them!

Jose Paulo Freitas; Level 3 - Occupational Work Supervision

After the initial visit to complete the sign up paperwork the majority of my qualification was carried out via e mail as it is mostly paper based. One of the assessors came out and did a recorded interview and reviewed my portfolio before returning to sign me off on the last visit. Throughout the whole process my assessor made sure that all the visits fitted in with my busy work schedule. I would not hesitate to recommend Q2W.
